Remembering the Riga Ghetto 1941-1943

On January 21, 1942, approximately 785 Jewish people from Leipzig and Dresden were deported to the Riga Ghetto. It was the first mass transport of Jews from Dresden to the occupied territories in the east. The deportation began at Dresden-Neustadt freight station— today known as ‘Alter Leipziger Bahnhof’. In the lecture by Andrejs Zacarinnijs and Yuliya Tereshchenko from the Museum of Riga Ghetto and Holocaust in Latvia, we will learn more about the Riga Ghetto, the connection between these two places and our shared history.

The event is a collaboration between the Bündnis gegen Antisemitismus Dresden und Ostsachsen and the Förderkreis Alter Leipziger Bahnhof.
