“I dearly long to experience cutting the ribbon at the opening of a memorial at this place.”

Who we are

We are a group of individuals and organizations working together since 2022 to establish a memorial and meeting place at the historic site of the deportation of Dresden’s Jews during the Nazi era.

About us

The Historical Place

The railway station known as the ‘Leipziger Bahnhof’ in Dresden was both the point of departure for the deportation of Jews from Dresden and eastern Saxony and an important transportation hub within the Nazi extermination system.

The historical place

Our Vision

Our goal is to establish a memorial and meeting place at the now-ruined railway station that brings together different forms of engagement and use. For us, commemorating the past in a dignified manner always also means learning from history today.
