“I dearly long to experience cutting the ribbon at the opening of a memorial at this place.”

Renate Aris, Shoa survivor, on November 9th, 2023

Welcome to the website of the initiative to establish a memorial place at Alter Leipziger Bahnhof.
At this website you can find informations about our efforts to create a memorial, learning and meeting place at the former train station that the Nazis used for the deportation of Jewish people from Dresden. If you share our mission, think about supporting us.

Who Are We?

We are a group of people and organisations who work together since 2022 to establish a memorial and meeting place at the historic site of the deportation of Jews from Dresden during the Nazi era.

About us

The Historcial Place

The train station called “Leipziger Bahnhof” in Dresden was the point of departure for the deportation of Jews from Dresden and eastern Saxony and at the same time an important transportation hub for the Nazi extermination economy.

The historical place

Our Vision

It is our goal to achive a memorial and meeting place at the now ruined train station that combines different types of use. For us, commemorating the past in a dignified manner always means learning from history today.
