Jewish Realities | Exhibition and Program
The exhibition “Jewish Realities” features works by five Jewish artists— photographs, paintings, drawings, object art, and text — from Germany, the United Kingdom, and Israel. On the one hand, the title reflects the fact that Jewish life, the Jewish present, and Jewish culture must always be understood in terms of plurality. On the other hand, it reflects the fact that Jewish realities have changed dramatically worldwide following the Hamas massacre in southern Israel on October 7, 2023. The project was developed in collaboration with the association werkraum bild+sinn. The accompanying program includes: a reading/concert with Alexander Estis and Tatjana Davis; and the play “Hey Jude, (don’t) be afraid” by and starring Konstantin Frank and Aviran Edri.

Dresden Deportation Hub | History Workshop
From April through November 2026, the “Dresden Deportation Hub” history workshop, organized by the Förderkreis Alter Leipziger Bahnhof, will explore the history of the Old Leipzig Train Station as a site of Nazi crimes and deportations. Through lectures, source analysis, discussions, and guided tours, the workshop will explore Nazi persecution, forced labor, personal histories, and local sites of remembrance. The workshop is open to interested individuals from the fields of research, civic initiatives, and civil society.

Transit – Images from Exile | Exhibition
From January 9 to February 8, 2026, the Förderkreis Alter Leipziger Bahnhof presented works by Argentine artist Mónica Laura Weiss at the Zentralwerk. The exhibition told the story of the persecution, flight, and exile of the Jewish Reizes family from Dresden, combining family documents with artistic book objects. After the exhibition, Weiss entrusted the series to the Alter Leipziger Bahnhof memorial site for safekeeping in preparation for a future memorial and community center.

Shaping. Remembrance. Together. A Concept for a Memorial and Community Center at the Old Leipzig Train Station
From August 2024 to March 2025, the Förderkreis Alter Leipziger Bahnhof (Friends of the Old Leipzig Train Station) developed a usage and operations concept for a memorial and community center on behalf of the City of Dresden. Based on interviews and research, a concept was developed for a site of remembrance of supraregional importance for the history of deportations in Saxony. The plan includes memorial, research, educational, and community engagement programs, as well as spaces dedicated to contemporary Jewish culture, networking, transportation history, and the local community.
